They will examine the role, characteristics, and motivations of entrepreneurs, different forms of business ownership, and the objectives businesses aim to achieve. Students will also consider the importance of financial planning, including the role of business plans and cash-flow forecasting in helping businesses secure and manage finance effectively.
In Financial Planning, students will learn how businesses plan, monitor, and control their finances. They will explore the purpose and challenges of sales forecasting, and how factors such as economic conditions and competition can affect predictions. Students will develop quantitative skills by calculating revenue, costs, and contribution, as well as analysing break-even points and margins of safety. They will also examine the role of budgets, including different types of budgeting and variance analysis, to assess performance and support decision-making
