RSE Consultation
From September 2026, schools鈥痑re required to鈥痟ave regard to updated statutory guidance from the Department for Education. This guidance emphasises openness with parents, clear consultation when policies are reviewed, and teaching that is suitable for pupils鈥� age and supports their wellbeing.鈥�听
In secondary schools, Relationships Education, Sex Education and Health Education are statutory. Together, these subjects help young people to understand relationships, respect, consent, online safety, physical and mental health, and how to recognise and respond to risk or harm.听Our RSE curriculum meets statutory requirements and the expectations of the law and is delivered sensitively and in a way that is accessible to all students. We recognise and respect the鈥痠mportant role鈥痶hat parents and families play in shaping beliefs and values and educating their children on these vital matters.听
The statutory guidance鈥痑sks鈥痵chools to actively consult parents and to share鈥痶he school鈥檚 policy on RSE听() and鈥痑n example of teaching materials from Key Stage 3 ().鈥�听
